MODULES

  • Module A-1

    Administration


    I. Purpose


    This module is designed to enable the instructor to handle any basic in-class administrative details which are necessary prior to beginning instruction.

  • Module A-2

    Introduction to the Alcohol/Drug Traffic Safety Problem


    I. Purpose


    This module is designed to define terms, explain the nature of the problem of alcohol/drugs and traffic safety, and provide possible solutions.

  • Module A-3

    Coping with Hostilities and Explanation of Texas Laws


    I. Purpose


    The purpose of this module is to break down hostilities, to allow participants to become involved, to explain necessary alcohol/drug traffic laws, and to begin instruction on alcohol and drugs.

  • Module B-1

    Effects of Alcohol/Drugs on Humans


    I. Purpose


    This module is designed to provide basic information concerning ways humans are physiologically and psychologically affected by alcohol and selected other drugs as a lead-in to driving task effects.

  • Module B-2

    Alcohol/Drugs and Driving Task Abilities


    I. Purpose


    The purpose of this module is to explain the relationship of alcohol and other drugs to driving task abilities.

  • Module C-1

    Alcoholism and Dependency


    I. Purpose


    The purpose of this module is to introduce participants to the concepts of alcoholism, dependency, and abuse.

  • Module C-2

    Symptoms of Dependency


    I. Purpose


    The purpose of this module is to present a variety of signs of chemical dependency to help participants evaluate the extent of their own problem.

    Sources of Assistance


    I. Purpose


    The purpose of this module is to provide information on sources of assistance for alcohol and drug problems.

  • Module D-1

    Costs of DWI


    I. Purpose


    The purpose of this module is to point out that there is more than legal responsibility involved in dealing with alcohol/drugs and driving.

  • Module D-2

    Decision Making


    I. Purpose


    The purpose of this module is to aid the participants in making specific decisions which will prevent DWI behavior in the future.

    Post-Test and Course Evaluation


    I. Purpose


    The purpose of this module is to administer the post-test instrument and conduct a course evaluation.
